Valley of flowers and Hemkund Sahib

The Valley of Flowers is a beautiful national park located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is famous for its wide variety of colorful Himalayan flowers that bloom during the monsoon season. The valley comes alive with bright shades of blue, pink, yellow, and white flowers spread across green meadows. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the valley also has small streams, waterfalls, and peaceful walking trails. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts nature lovers, trekkers, and photographers from around the world.

27th July – Day 1: Dehradun – Devprayag – Rudraprayag
Arrive at Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) by 12 PM. Travel to Rudraprayag in our chartered vehicle. Stop for photos at the Devprayag confluence (where Alaknanda and Bhagirathi meet). In the evening, walk along the river beach (if applicable), followed by an orientation session.
Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

28th July – Day 2: Rudraprayag – Joshimath
Today, we drive towards Joshimath, covering a distance of about 115 km in 5–6 hours. Situated at approximately 1,875 meters (6,150 feet), Joshimath is the base town for many Himalayan treks. The drive offers stunning views of deep river valleys and lush green mountains.
Overnight stay in Joshimath.

29th July – Day 3: Joshimath – Drive to Govindghat – Trek to Ghangaria
After breakfast, we take a short 20 km drive (about 1 hour) to Govindghat. From there, we begin our 10 km trek to Ghangaria, which lies at an altitude of around 3,050 meters (10,000 feet). The trail runs alongside the Pushpawati River with gradual ascent and scenic views.
Overnight stay in Ghangaria.

30th July – Day 4: Ghangaria – Trek to Valley of Flowers – Return to Ghangaria
Today is dedicated to exploring the Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The trek is about 7 km one way (14 km round trip), and the valley sits at an altitude of 3,658 meters (12,000 feet). The trail leads through lush alpine meadows, waterfalls, and rare Himalayan flowers. After enjoying the natural beauty, we return to Ghangaria by evening.

31st July – Day 5: Ghangaria – Trek to Hemkund Sahib – Return to Ghangaria
We begin a steep 6 km trek (12 km round trip) to Hemkund Sahib, located at a height of 4,329 meters (14,200 feet). This sacred Sikh pilgrimage site lies beside a peaceful glacial lake surrounded by snowy peaks. After spending time in the serene setting, we descend back to Ghangaria for the night.

1st August – Day 6: Ghangaria – Trek to Govindghat – Drive to Joshimath – Auli
We trek 10 km down to Govindghat and drive back 20 km to Joshimath, followed by another short 10 km drive to reach Auli. Total drive time is around 1.5 hours. Auli is a quiet and scenic hill station known for its panoramic views of Nanda Devi and the surrounding peaks.

2nd August – Day 7: Auli – Drive to Rishikesh
We begin a long but beautiful drive to Rishikesh, covering a distance of about 260 km in 9–10 hours. The route follows the river valley, descending back into the plains. Rishikesh, located at 372 meters (1,220 feet), is a spiritual and cultural hub on the banks of the Ganga.

3rd August – Day 8: Rishikesh Free Day
This day is kept as a spare or buffer day in case of weather delays or roadblocks. If everything goes as planned, you can use this day to relax, explore Rishikesh, enjoy a yoga session, or visit the local markets and temples.

4th August – Day 9: Rishikesh – Dehradun
In the morning, post breakfast, leave for Dehradun Airport with many amazing memories.
