The Annapurna Circuit is a renowned trekking route in Nepal, encircling the majestic Annapurna Massif. Trekkers traverse diverse landscapes, from subtropical forests to high-altitude deserts, experiencing the rich cultures of Gurung, Thakali, and Manangi communities. Highlighted by the challenging Thorong La Pass, the trek offers stunning views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machapuchare, and Manaslu.
Itinerary:
Day 01 – Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Reach Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel and rest. Free time to explore the city and prepare for the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu. Altitude: 1,400 m.
Day 2 – Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, Dharapani, and finally to Chame
A long scenic drive passing through hills, rivers, and traditional villages. The final destination for the day is Chame. The total drive takes around 10 to 12 hours. Overnight in Chame. Altitude: 2,670 m.
Day 03 – Trek from Chame to Lower Pisang
Begin your trek along the Marsyangdi River through forests and local villages. The trail offers great views of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak. Walking time: 5 to 6 hours. Overnight in Lower Pisang. Altitude: 3,200 m. Altitude gain: +530 m.
Day 4 – Trek from Lower Pisang to Manang
Hike through beautiful landscapes with panoramic views of Annapurna and Tilicho Peak. You’ll notice a gradual change in vegetation and climate. Walking time: 5 to 7 hours. Overnight in Manang. Altitude: 3,540 m. Altitude gain: +340 m.
Day 05 – Acclimatization in Manang
Spend the day resting and taking a short hike to help your body adjust to the altitude. You may visit the local monastery or hike to Gangapurna Lake. Overnight in Manang. Altitude: 3,540 m.
Day 06 – Trek from Manang to Shree Kharka
Trek along a less-traveled path heading towards Tilicho Lake. The trail is scenic with views of snow-covered peaks. Walking time: 4 to 6 hours. Overnight in Shree Kharka. Altitude: 4,080 m. Altitude gain: +540 m.
Day 07 – Trek from Shree Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp
Continue along rocky trails with narrow sections. Arrive at Tilicho Base Camp. Walking time: 4 to 5 hours. Overnight at Base Camp. Altitude: 4,150 m. Altitude gain: +70 m.
Day 08 – Visit Tilicho Lake and return to Shree Kharka
Start early for the climb to Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. The route is challenging but rewarding. After visiting the lake, return to Shree Kharka. Walking time: 7 to 8 hours. Lake altitude: 4,920 m. Altitude gain/loss: +770 m / -840 m.
Day 09 – Trek from Shree Kharka to Yak Kharka
Descend slightly and then climb gradually along the trail leading to Yak Kharka. Walking time: 4 to 6 hours. Overnight in Yak Kharka. Altitude: 4,050 m. Altitude gain: -30 m.
Day 10 – Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorung Phedi or High Camp
Climb steadily to Thorung Phedi. If conditions allow, you may continue up to High Camp for a shorter crossing the next day. Walking time: 5 to 6 hours. Overnight stay. Altitude: 4,450 m. Altitude gain: +400 m.
Day 11 – Cross Thorung La Pass and descend to Muktinath
This is the toughest and most rewarding day. Start early and climb to Thorung La Pass, the highest point of the trek. After crossing the pass, descend to the sacred town of Muktinath. Walking time: 7 to 8 hours. Pass altitude: 5,416 m. Muktinath altitude: 3,802 m. Altitude gain: +966 m / -1,614 m.
Day 12 – Drive to Pokhara
After breakfast, drive from Muktinath to Pokhara via Jomsom. Enjoy views of the Kali Gandaki Valley. The drive takes 6 to 8 hours, depending on road conditions. Overnight in Pokhara. Altitude: 2,750 m.
Day 13 – Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
A long drive back to Kathmandu, about 8 to 9 hours. Relax at the hotel or explore the city in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu. Altitude: 1,337 m.
Day 14: Buffer Day in Kathmandu
A spare day in case of flight delays from Lukla due to bad weather. You can rest, shop, or visit temples and cultural landmarks around the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 15: Final Departure
Transfer to the airport for your return journey. Our staff will assist with your departure.
